Kulthein ki Dal

495.00

Kulthein di Dal is a traditional dish hailing from the rich culinary tapestry of the Dogra region. This hearty lentil preparation features Kulth, also known as horse gram, as its star ingredient. The lentils are slow-cooked to perfection, resulting in a thick and flavorful dal. Kulthein di Dal showcases a robust blend of spices, often including local flavors like asafoetida, cumin, and mustard seeds. The horse gram lends a unique nutty and earthy taste to the dish, making it distinct from other lentil preparations. The dal is simmered until the lentils are tender and infused with the aromatic spices, creating a wholesome and comforting texture.

Bharti’s food is simply delicious and reminds you of being nestled in the cold of Gulmarg – having delicious piping hot hak saak, rogan Josh, dum aloo and her famous Qyur. After my trip to Kashmir, I kept searching for places that offered authentic kashmiri food and after much trial and error (and disappointment) I lucked out with Qyur. Qyur leaves your taste buds wanting for more (and going back for more) and a strong lingering emotion that takes you back to your travels to Kashmir.
